Sled Dog World Championships 2016 in Frauenwald postponed

We would like to inform you that based on the current weather conditions the World Sleddog Association (WSA) as host and the community of Frauenwald and the Sled Dog Sport Club Thüringen (SSCT) as organizers have agreed to postpone the World Championships in purebred sled dog racing, due to take place from 11- 14 February 2016, by a week.

The Championships are now scheduled to take place in Frauenwald from 18 – 21 February 2016.

“Unfortunately, we came to realize that following the recent beautiful conditions, winter has decided to take a break in the coming two weeks. However, we don’t want to surrender”, says Hans-Jürgen Ebert who is in charge of organising the event. His confidence is based on past experience: Last year the German Championships had to be postponed as well and then were able to go ahead at the later date in perfect conditions.

Due to the change in date, the deadlines for entering competitors, payment of entry fees and selection of teams are also being moved back by a week.
